Filosofen Lars Svendsen har igjen skrevet en bok om noe alle har erfaring med, og ikke egentlig tenker noe særlig over i hverdagen - arbeid. Boken inngår i den engelske serien "The Art of living" ("kunsten å leve"), redigert av Mark Vernon. Ifølge serieomtalen er tanken at forfatterne skal trekke på personlige erfaringer og skrive filosofi som utfordrer leserens tanker om eget liv.
