Abstract
The article focuses on two newly published series of lectures on governmentality and biopolitics. In this context, Foucault discovers liberalism as a new mode of governmentality. The main argument is that liberalism in its presently known shape, marks a significant turn-around of the concept of liberalism in its classical form. Its motto, which is about ruling "as little as possible", is taken over by neoliberalism, understood as ruling "as much as possible".
