Sammendrag
Denne artikkelen drøfter hvordan naturlige eksperiment kan benyttes som svært nyttige hjelpemiddel innen samfunnsforskningen for å undersøke om endringer i strukturelle rammebetingelser forårsaker endringer på individnivå. Vi illustrerer dette gjennom å vise til hva som kjennertegner gode naturlige eksperimenter og hvordan tidligere forskning benytter kontrollerte og naturlige eksperimenter for å finne kausale sammenhenger. Mer konkret viser vi til reformer knyttet til nye regler for sykemelding og undersøker om disse har hatt betydning for arbeidstakeres sykefravær fra jobben. Videre gis det en kort introduksjon av relevante metodiske teknikker som difference in difference og regression discontinuity analyse.Authors who publish with this journal agree to the following terms:
