Sammendrag
Da jeg i fjor høst deltok på en konferanse ved Morgan-senteret, som bærer David Morgans navn, ved universitetet i Manchester, benyttet jeg sjansen til å lese hans siste bok på veien dit. Da jeg kom tilbake var jeg over meg av begeistring for boken, Manchester og britisk familiesosiologi, og ettersom jeg ikke klarte å holde begeistringen for meg selv ble jeg avkrevd bokessay. Så dermed er det klart at denne teksten er resultatet av begeistring.
