The stone that found its place in Krogsta (U 1125)

U 1125 (Krogsta, Tuna parish) is a Proto-Nordic runestone from the Late Roman Iron Age, with seven runes on the B-side and eight visible runes on the A-side. A human figure with raised hands and splayed fingers is carved to the left of the runes on the A-side. The proper interpretation of the runic text has eluded scholars for centuries. In this article I discuss previous proposals from the literature, with a focus on runographic and linguistic issues.
