Sammendrag

I kulturpolitikkens norske historie anvendes begrepet "Âære"Â særlig i to sammenhenger. Vi møter det i betegnelsen av statens kunstnerlønn som æreslønn i perioden 1863 til 1973 (Solhjell 2005a og b; Solhjell & Dahl 2013 ), og i kunstnerorganisasjonenes æresretter i 1945. Men ære påberopes også i vår egen tid, når det takkes for den ære som er vist ved tildeling av priser eller andre utmerkelser. I denne kommentaren diskuterer jeg forholdet mellom ære og kunstnerisk anerkjennelse, i ulike faser i norsk kulturpolitikk.
