This is a story about how Håkan Rydving and other scholars have functioned as academic role models in creating a sound and stimulating university environment. Young students of religions were lead into fascinating studies by complementary story telling. The excellence of well-known researchers, and an understanding of how to receive response from such scholars, were built not only on written material but also on positive hearsay.
